Citizens Advice Milton Keynes Supports Residents with Access to Advice via Video Using the Attend Anywhere Platform

The Customer

Citizens Advice Milton Keynes is an organisation offering free, independent and confidential information and advice to the people of Milton Keynes. Over the past 50 years, they’ve helped over 400,000 local residents overcome the problems that affect their everyday lives. Being able to access free, confidential advice at the right time is essential, so in March 2020 when the country was put on a national lockdown, Cizitens Advice decided they needed to explore new ways to enable their clients to access their services. While researching how to do this, they discovered Induction Attend Anywhere, a web-based video conferencing platform.

The Solution

Upon learning that Attend Anywhere is used widely by the NHS and public sector organisations, which have very similar requirement to the consultations that Cizitens Advice Milton Keynes offers to clients, they decided to implement Attend Anywhere across their organisation. Stuart Jacobs, Digital Skills Support describes the implementation of Attend Anywhere as, “very efficient and surprisingly easy. The support we received and continue to receive from the team at Involve is excellent and all issues have been promptly resolved.”

The Result

In a survey conducted by Citizens Advice Milton Keynes about Attend Anywhere, clients responded:

“quick and easy,” “much easier than expected,” “faster than taking a long bus ride.”

95% would use the service again

When discussing how their staff feel about using Attend Anywhere, Stuart said: “Our staff find Attend Anywhere very easy to use and navigate, particularly liking the simplicity. They were pleased that the training wasn’t the slightest bit daunting; just a few simple steps and they were up and running. Most importantly, they feel that functionally it allows them to communicate fully and the screen sharing option helps with providing clients with essential signposting.”

Citizens Advice Miltion Keynes have been delighted with the Attend Anywhere service, when discussing the future of the platform, Stuart said: “We are working on a future project to try and introduce Attend Anywhere to our Outreach clinics. If we can get the funding, we feel this will help to save on sending advisors out as well as increasing the service times clients can access our services. We hope in future, we continue to extend our reach and make accessing our services even easier and more efficient.”

Business Insights by Involve

The Attend Anywhere service is beneficial for organisations as it saves the time and expense of having to travel. By using Involve’s Business Insights service, it has been estimated that the 460 consultations taken place by Citizens Advice Milton Keynes via Attend Anywhere, totalling 147 hours, have saved:

120 trees, by reducing emissions due to less travel

£4,140 in petrol costs assuming one guest with a 20-mile round trip at 45p per mile
